So who is Blueleaf Healthcare and what is it they do?
A Previous Identity.
Back in 1987 a man named Ray Bond started a company selling specialty wheelchairs for pressure-care, he called the company BBB Enterprises. Over the years Ray built up a steady client base, mainly in Alberta continuing care facilities and hospitals. Ray added other pressure-care products including bed overlays and some seat cushions also.
1994 saw the first patient lifting products offered by BBB enterprises, Ray offered Pro-Med lifts from Australia with steady but real success and with new transfer products found himself entering the home-care market. BBB enjoyed very good success with regional contracts and steady growth in the seating market.
By 2003 Ray had turned 70 and had better things to be doing. BBB was purchased by Jonathan and Matthew Biggs and in 2004, BBB became Blueleaf Healthcare Inc.
What, Where and Why?
What Blueleaf do is supply three types of product only; those being solutions for Pressure Care, Patient Handling and Bathing. We are focused on our areas of expertise and at this point we aim to stick at what we know so as to be able to offer quality assistance to you and your organization.
Patient Handling products:
- Ceiling mounted patient lifts for patient transfers.
- Floor lifts for patient transfers.
- Specialty slings for various applications.
Patient Care Seating Products:
- Patient Care Chairs, either air or gel seat cushions, tilt, recline, full mobility, ideal for very dependent residents.
Pressure-Care Surfaces:
- Active surfaces, either alternating or low-air-loss therapy surfaces (full mattresses or simple overlays).
- Medical Sheepskin products, manufactured from Australian medical sheepskin in a full range of bed pads, boots, protectors, covers.
Patient Care Beds:
- High-Low beds for continuing care environments.
- Bariatric Beds.
- Ultra-low beds for complete prevention of fall related injuries.
Bathing products:
- Tubs, adjustable, fixed height or walk-in.
- Tub lifts.
- Shower trolleys.
Where is Blueleaf located? We operate from a 2400 sq ft building in Edmonton where we inventory our products and carry out product preparation and any service work required. Our office staff are well acquainted with our clientele and products, and operating from the city allows us to ship and receive products efficiently as needs arise. We also have a service centre in Calgary where support staff operates from; southern Alberta customers are easily served from this location.
Why does Blueleaf have the edge? Good question, one that can answered most simply by the word ownership. Blueleaf is operated by its owners; your challenge is adopted by us as our challenge, your problem is our problem.
