Blueleaf Healthcare is pleased to present the following recently completed projects. These particular examples provide a good overview of the types of challenges faced by Blueleaf, as well as the solutions provided.
Rockyview General Hospital – Calgary, Alberta.
Care Environment – Bariatric Semi-Private Patient Room.
Challenge – To provide as much lift coverage as possible for both residents of the semi-private room in question, and to maintain the privacy of each resident through the use of cubicle curtains.
Solution – Guldmann Maxi rail room-covering system with DH4000 lift allowing 1000lb capacity across the full 10’ x 18’ semi-private room. Lift system ‘jumps’ existing curtain tracks through use of Guldmann’s unique 4-wheeled room-covering trolley.
Peter Lougheed Centre – Calgary Alberta.
Care Environment – Bariatric ICU Patient Room.
Challenge – To provide complete lift coverage of the patient room and provide access to the shower room/toilet area with the patient lift.
Solution – 2x Guldmann lift systems. System #1, Room Covering System providing full coverage across the room at height approx. 14” below ceiling height. System #2, straight rail at ceiling height (so potentially overlapping Room Covering System) extending from centre of bed position into washroom, terminating over toilet. Both rail systems fitted with Guldmann GH2 Twinstrap lift modules, providing safe 1000lb lifting capacity anywhere in the care environment.
Youville Home – St Albert, Alberta.
Care Environment – Continuing Care
Challenge – Replace existing patient lifts and tubs, reduce caregiver injury.
Solution – Specified Leaftech Alto patient lifts and Salsa sit/stand lifts with a complete range of Leaftech slings for easy use by any staff member on the 2 units. Replaced fixed-height tubs with Barton adjustable height units as well as Barton tub chairs for easy transfers to and from the tub. Also provided a Barton Shower Trolley for supine showering in the tub room. Followed up with full user training on new products, as well as ongoing training as required.
